Keeping Babies Safe was launched after the founder's son Garret passed away because of an unsafe sleep environment. Safe cribs and sleep safety knowledge is the best defense against unsafe cribs and sleeping conditions. More than 11 million cribs, bassinets and play yards have been recalled in the past few years. Keeping Babies Safe will continue to work as an advocate and information resource for parents to ensure that cribs and sleeping environments for children remain safe. They  will work tirelessly so that no one will loose a child due to an unsafe crib and sleeping environment.
