Consumer Critique: Hot Buns

Disclosure: I received complimentary products to facilitate this post. All opinions are my own.

One of the fun things about this blog is that I occasionally get to try out those products that seem too good to be true that are advertised on TV infomercials. Hot Buns is one of those products.

When you buy Hot Buns, you pick dark or light, based on your hair color. You get a small and large one. This was nice for us, because I could try out the small one on my daughters' hair. My 6-year-old's hair is too short, but my 4-year-old's hair was long enough. It actually worked better than I thought it would. It wasn't perfect, but she wiggled while I did it.

For my own hair, it was actually pretty hard for me to do it myself. With practice, though, I think I'd be able to get it. (Note: I rarely do much with my hair, so I'm terrible at it.) What I did like was being able to use it to make my hair wavy in the morning - I just wrapped it around the tool at night when it was wet. That worked really well!

The price isn't bad - $26 will get you two large and two small, so you can share with a friend. I'm looking forward to trying out more. It really makes my hair look thicker, since it doubles the volume of the bun!
