Consumer Critique: The Bank On Yourself Revolution

Disclosure: I received complimentary products to facilitate this post. All opinions are my own.

I recently got a book that I appreciate a lot. It's called The Bank On Yourself Revolution: Fire Your Banker, Bypass Wall Street, and Take Control of Your Own Financial Future. I like the idea of doing things independently - it saves money and gives you more control. But it can be intimidating too. This book simplifies a lot of financial matters. It includes relevant topics like saving for college tuition, mortgages, and financial stress.

She has an easy-to-understand writing style that is educational but not boring. Although some of the book covers basic information, it goes in-depth enough that even people with a basic handle on their finances will be able to learn something. You can get a taste by downloading the first chapter free. You can also learn more when you like Bank on Yourself or follow @PamelaYellen.

If you're trying to take control of your finances and more your own choices, this is an excellent book for you.
