Caring Causes: State Farm Neighborhood Assist

Disclosure: I participated in an Influencer Activation on behalf of Mom Central Consulting for State Farm. I received a promotional item to thank me for participating.

There are many amazing organizations that wouldn't exist without volunteering. I put in a lot of hours for my church's school, and I also volunteer periodically for other great organizations. My girls are just now old enough to start formally helping out, although they've been doing little things like helping the janitor at church pick up paper for years. Now that they're older, we've done some work at Feed My Starving Children, they've done more work at our church folding bulletins and cleaning, and my daughter launched a project to sell crafts to support girls' education.

I think it's important to help out community organizations because they provide great services, often at a low cost, and rely on volunteers to help out. Of course, it doesn't hurt when they get grants and awards from organizations either, and that's the point of the State Farm Neighborhood Assist program. Thousands of causes across the United States and Canada entered, and it's down to 200. When you vote for your favorites, you'll help narrow it down to forty great organizations that will get $25,000. You can search to find a group by state, and you get ten votes per day, so you can spread it out if you can't decide between a few organizations near you.

I voted for several causes in my area. I like keeping it local. I also picked causes that hit arts, education, and environment, as those are some of my top priorities to support. I'm a teacher and musician, and I think we need to take care of our planet! So I was happy to vote, and I'll return and vote again. I hope you check it out and vote for organizations near you as well. It's a simple and easy way you can contribute!
