Life is pretty crazy, and Bible stories are no exception. If you've ever really delved into the Bible, there are a lot of stories that just don't make sense to us. Talking donkeys? Bears mauling kids at a prophet's command? There's really some pretty crazy stuff. John Alan Turner has collected many of these obscure, hard-to-understand stories in Crazy Stories, Sane God: Lessons from the Most Unexpected Places in the Bible. This book, appropriate for those with any amount of Biblical knowledge, retells the story, then looks at the lessons God is likely trying to tell us.
Most of the stories I had heard before, but I was raised in a Christian school. Some of them were new for my husband, although he was a lifelong Christian. It was interesting for both of us to gain new perspective on some of the peculiar ways God can work in people's lives.
