Consumer Critique: Writers of the Future Volume 30

Disclosure: I received complimentary products to facilitate this post. All opinions are my own.

Compilations are great ways to get the taste for a lot of authors, with short stories that help you get a feel for a writing style, without having to invest a lot of money and time in full books. Writers of the Future is a contest that's been around for decades, choosing twelve each year to feature. This year's edition is fun to read and showcases twelve very different authors. It's available on AmazonBarnes & Noble, and Kobo. I haven't read all the stories in the book yet, but I've really enjoyed what I've read. They're long enough to really be able to get a sense of the author's voice, but short enough that I can read them (or most of them) before I get interrupted by kids - a great plus for any parent!
