Going
to the movies is the perfect way to spend time with your family on a
rainy, summer afternoon or with your significant other on date night.
The great news is now
you can catch a film while making a difference in the lives of
thousands of children! This summer, the Will Rogers Institute welcomes
Jeff Bridges,
star of the upcoming film adaptation of science fiction novel, The Giver,
as the 2014 Summer Theatrical Fundraising Campaign Spokesperson, supporting the Will Rogers Institute Neonatal Program.
The
summer fundraising campaign, taking place in movie theaters across the
United States, is a time-honored tradition that began in 1936 and
featured James Cagney, Humphrey
Bogart and Bette Davis in the first public service announcement. The Will Rogers Institute
is proud to continue this longstanding tradition with the help and generosity of Bridges.
Once at the theaters, families can give back to the Will Rogers Institute Neonatal Program. Here’s how:
·
See your name in lights.
Purchase a Pin-up and in return for your donation,
you will have the opportunity to write your name on our Hollywood
themed "Pin-up" that will be displayed on boards throughout theater
lobbies.
·
Snack up! Purchase a Special Combo at the Concession Stand.
·
Round up your purchase and donate the spare change to a good cause!
Jeff Bridges
is a six-time Academy Award nominee and is regarded as one of
Hollywood's
most successful actors. Bridges is no stranger to philanthropic work.
In 1983, he founded the End Hunger Network, a non-profit
organization dedicated to feeding children around the world. Bridges is
also currently the national spokesman for the Share Our Strength/No Kid
Hungry campaign that is fighting to end childhood hunger in America by
2015.
