Consumer Critique: Optimal Living 360

Disclosure: I received complimentary products to facilitate this post. All opinions are my own.

So many self-help books focus on only one aspect of improvement. But oftentimes, improvement needs to be approached holistically to really be effective. In Optimal Living 360, Sanjay Jain takes the big-picture approach and teaches readers how to use that to get the biggest bang for your buck. He explores how to figure out what you really value in life with the ASPIRES model (Assets, Safety, Physical, Intellectual, Relationships, Economic and Spiritual). By approaching decision-making using your core values (which should be the same in every arena of your life), each decision you make in any area is going to have a positive impact on your life journey.

This book was a lot to take in. Some people might find it easier to focus on just one facet at a time, but even though it may seem overwhelming to look at the whole picture, Sanjay does a good job of breaking it down - not into individual aspects of life, but into the process of identifying values and applying them. The book is still easy to read, and the author has both a business and medical background, which enables him to speak with authority on many topics. If you're a logical thinker who likes a solid framework to help make decisions, this is the book for you.
