Fun Freetime: Smart Songs for Active Children

Disclosure: I received complimentary products to facilitate this post. All opinions are my own.

Vincent Nunes recently released "Smart Songs for Active Children." It's an album that really hits at two parenting elements I value - physical activity and education. The album has great diversity in style and feel - sometimes even with one song! Manuel the Great has seven time/tempo changes, and since I'm teaching my kids about music, it was a great way to talk about musical language (andante, presto, etc). Even without musical training, though, it opens up the door to discovery about contrast, style, and speed. They Speak Spanish educates kids about Spanish-speaking countries. Dance the Day Away encourages movement with a catchy beat. Wash Your Hands is a lighthearted way to remind kids about personal hygiene. With African, Latin, folk, and ragtime sounds, this album is fun to listen to!
