I wanted to highlight some sustainability points. As the world's population is projected to possibly hit 9 billion people by 2050, and world hunger is still a problem, it's a major question to address - how can we continue to provide food for more and more people, with limited resources on this planet?
One major way is by avoiding wasted food. According to the website, cooking with every part of the food (including beet greens, not just beets), more efficient planning and shopping, using frozen foods that keep longer, and not buying in bulk just to save money are ways to avoid food waste.
Another way is alternative food sources. Red Rice (a weed) and food byproducts (such as hazelnut skins) can be utilized.
There are even ways to utilize unusual spaces for growing, such as rooftop gardens and underground farming.
