Healthy Habits: Preventing Pregnancy Complications

Every two minutes, a woman dies from complications experienced during pregnancy and childbirth.Most of these deaths are preventable. On behalf of Merck for Mothers – a 10-year, $500 million initiative to help end maternal mortality – I had a chance to interview Dr. Michael Rosenblatt, Executive Vice President and Chief Medical Officer of Merck & Co, Inc., about how expecting families can help prevent potential pregnancy complications. He was joined by Jennifer Albert, a new mother and advocate who suffered a severe pregnancy complication in 2013.
