Consumer Critique: Parenting with Presence

Disclosure: I received complimentary products to facilitate this post. All opinions are my own.

With Mother's Day and Father's Day coming, it's a good time to talk about parenting books. Susan Stiffelman, recently published Parenting with Presence, a powerful reminder for all parents in this day of multi-tasking, busy families. She brings out the point in the book that we can often learn from our children. She helps parents recognize and overcome triggers that create negative events in family life, and focus more on being conscious parents.

She writes with gentle authority. As a licensed marriage and family therapist and a credentialed teacher, she has experience to back up her writing, but doesn't come across as rigid or authoritarian, rather helpful and sympathetic to the struggles families face.
