Fun Freetime: Camps and Workshops at Microsoft Stores

As much as two months of math and reading achievement is lost by young people when they don’t engage in educational activities during the summer, according to The National Summer Learning Association.

Your family can beat these stats by taking advantage of local, free resources, including camps and workshops at the Microsoft at Mall of America. For example, over the course of four days for two hours a day, kids can learn how to code and design games. Not only do kids gain valuable digital literacy skills, they also get to leave with a game they created and can continue to leverage these skills all year round.

Local teachers can also take advantage of the technology hub at Microsoft at Mall of America with workshops tailored to the classroom, such as Teaching in the Digital Age and Teaching App Creation. Participants also have the opportunity apply for professional development credits with a certificate of participation.

Registration for these classes just opened and they fill up fast. More details on each class below and visit microsoftstore.com/summercamps or microsoftstore.com/educatorevents to register.
