With the rise of social media over the past decade being a parent has become much different than it ever has been. Gone are the days of the Family Ties, Full House, and Home Improvement simplicity, we now live in a world where everything is documented and shared. There are challenges parents are facing today from “branding” on social media, trying to stay “cool” without becoming creepy, and having the time they once had to enjoy the little things.
Millennial Parents is an award winning web series that takes a humorous look at modern parenting and the demands that come with it. Creator Jake Greene has used his own real life experiences to tell the story of what parents go through these days. The series is sure to strike a chord with most parents who either know someone like the characters in Millennial Parents or see themselves in the characters. What is abundantly clear is that being a parent today is more unique than ever before and a sense of humor can make it less taxing.
Some of the topics Millennial Parents addresses:
How social media has caused Millennial Parents to build and promote individual and family “brands”
The challenges Millennial Parents are facing that previous generations didn’t have.
The role single friends continue to play in parenting
The relationships parents have with other parents
