Capstone Young Readers has just published DC Super Heroes Origami: 46 Folding Projects for Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman and More. This new activity book for origami folders and super hero fans is written by internationally renowned origami master John Montroll. Montroll, origami designer and the author of more than 40 origami how-to books, turns his inventive talents to create DC Comic characters, objects and logos. With clear, step-by-step diagrams and instructions, and full-color photos of all finished models, DC Super Heroes Origami shows how to transform simple squares of paper into Batarangs, S-Shields, Invisible Jets, Green Lanterns, Jumpa the Kanga, and so much more.
“The wide diversity of characters and objects made for a fascinating challenge,” said Montroll.
Models
range from simple to not-so-complex, all accessible to the mainstream
origami folder. Also included in the back of the book are 96 sheets of
specially illustrated folding papers to make your DC creations truly
come to life.
DC Super Heroes Origami was developed under license with Warner Bros. Consumer Products, on behalf of DC Entertainment.
My daughters absolutely loved this book. My older one is just about eight, and she is pretty careful with making origami creations. My younger one was too young to do any alone (although she could do some of the basic ones with minimal assistance), but she loved playing with them. They actually turned out better than I thought they would, although even I struggled on some of the really complex ones! It was an awesome back-to-school gift - fun, yet taps into the creative side. We've only done a few of them, so this book will give us hours of fun as the weather gets colder in the winter!
