Years ago, I remember seeing the book Men are from Mars, Women are from Venus. Although I've never read it, I know enough about it to know that it's a helpful book for couples when it comes to understanding the opposite gender.
I recently had a chance to review a new take on the theme, Beyond Mars and Venus: Relationship Skills for Today's Complex World. This book does a good job of moving beyond the traditional male and female roles, recognizing that women can be strong and men can be in tune with their emotions, providing a lot more freedom of self but also providing new challenges as the lines between traditional male and female tendencies become blurred.
This book takes a look at how women and men are still different, but that it's more important to recognize and maintain emotionally satisfying relationships based on our partners' unique needs, rather than on stereotypes or generalizations. The book is easy to read, and suitable for those seeking a relationship, those looking to strengthen a weak relationship, or those looking to tweak an already strong relationship.
