I recently had a chance to review FUTURE FLASH by
Kita Helmetag Murdock. This was a book with an interesting premise for a middle-grades novel - a girl who can see flashes of the future when she makes physical contact. Although she has that skill, she doesn't know much about her past, especially her parents. A new kid moves into town, and she gets a painful future flash, worse than any she's ever experienced, and wonders if she can change the future and save his life.
The book had a good level of suspense. It is a little intense for some of the younger middle grades, but it does a good job of exploring themes like bullying, social interactions, responsibility, decision-making, and confidence. It's well-written and has a satisfying conclusion.
