I recently had the chance to review Answering the Toughest Questions about Heaven and Hell. This is a topic that there are a lot of different viewpoints, not all of which are Biblically based. Several of them are questions my kids have asked before, and several of them are questions that I still have - or questions I've never considered, but was curious after seeing them in the book.
The authors don't shy away from anything: animals in heaven, a loving God and the existence of hell, what heaven will be like, near-death experiences. While the authors do touch on the beliefs of different religions, it is obviously written from a Biblical standpoint. Where the answers are ambiguous based on Scripture, a variety of interpretations followed by major Christian denominations are included. Answers are clearly and logically written, and the book includes questions for discussion interspersed within the chapters to encourage further reflection.
The book may be a little more conservative than some people want to read, but the answers are Biblically-based, as much as they can be on a topic that doesn't have a great deal of information in the Bible.
