It can be really hard to squeeze in time for meditation and prayer in our busy lives. It can also be hard to justify making it a priority - after all, it isn't as tangibly productive as other tasks. The book GodSpace, which I recently got to review, provides seven different ways to make more room for God in our lives. Some of them are more ambitious - the idea of a Sabbath to completely shut off other influences to focus on God. Some of them are very easy to implement - gratitude, generosity, critical thinking. By helping readers become more intentional and God-focused in their practices, this book helps readers find more space for God, for reflection, and for soul recharges.
The book is honest, incorporating author Keri Wyatt Kent's own experiences, both struggles and successes. The suggestions are practical, and although not every Christian will be able to make every suggestion work, there is something in the book for everyone.
A lay pastor at Willow Creek Community Church, where she has been a member for thirty years, Kent is the author of eleven books. She speaks at events and retreats around the country. Learn more at http://www.keriwyattkent.com.
