Book Nook: Peck - A Lonely, Little Lovebird Down Under

Peck: A Lonely, Little Lovebird Down Under, a book I recently got to review, is a little story about a cute bird who lives happily in Australia with all of his animal friends, until he decides he needs to find someone special to share his live with. Along the way he has friends who help him out on his journey, each one getting him on the next stage of his travels.

I like the sense of curiosity and adventure encouraged in the story. I also like the theme of cooperation and wonder. Some little kids might be annoyed at the ending, but other kids will enjoy the open-ended sense of the story and the fact that they can imagine for themselves what happens next on his journey.
