Consumer Critique: Code - Robot Repair

As a math teacher, with daughters interested in science and a husband who works in IT, I love encouraging STEM skills in a fun way. A new game I got to review, Code: Robot Repair, definitely fits the bill.

The game is really flexible. It can be used either as a solo game or with collaborative play. Families can also introduce a competitive element by taking turns timing solutions for various puzzles. The game basically focuses on using Boolean logic to create solutions to different puzzles. The puzzles are graded from beginner to advanced, getting more complex as players work through the book. The solution book is also included, in case players (kids or adults) are stumped on a solution.

Game play varies in length, depending on the skill level and age of the player. Some of the more simple puzzles can be solved in just a few minutes, while others can take longer.

This is a great gift for just about anyone. The game play is fairly easy to figure out, and even relatively young kids can solve the simpler puzzles (my 8-year-old could handle most of the beginner puzzles). Even if kids aren't interested in coding, it can strengthen logic and reasoning skills, which are good for just about any problem-solving application.
