Originally written a decade ago, Natural Baby and Childcare aims to be the essential parents' reference guide to the best conventional and natural health and wellness options for their child. I had a chance to review the updated new edition, which contains the latest research on a wide variety of childcare topics, including homeopathic medicines, blood tests, vaccines, nutrition, neonatal screenings, natural baby care products, and more.
There are quite a few things I like about the book. It doesn't just focus on "alternative" medicine, and doesn't completely negate the typical standard of care. It's written for parents who want to explore options, and understand why sometimes conventional medicine might not be the best option.
It's also organized well. It's easy to find information on specific topics. It can also be read straight through to get an overview of a broad range of health issues. With over five hundred pages, it covers every issue I could think of!
Natural Baby and Childcare is a balanced and easy-to-understand presentation of the health issues that parents and children both face in the modern landscape, putting the power to protect their children in the hands of parents.
