Book Nook: Birds of Wonder

I recently had a chance to review Birds of Wonder by Cynthia Robinson. This was an intriguing book, written in a unique way.

In a small community in upstate New York, a girl dies. This very close community deals with the death in different ways. The book is told in the point of view of six different people, providing a complex story that is richer and deeper than if it had just been told from one person's point of view. It's also much more realistic, as life doesn't always fit neatly into one viewpoint.

Although it revolves around a death, there are enough lighter and humorous elements from making it too dark and heavy - yet the family relationships, pasts that never disappear, and poignant moments come through strongly as well.
