The Bible talks about trees more than any living creation other than people. Perhaps you've missed the forest...and the trees.
I recently had the chance to review Reforesting Faith. In the book, former physician and carpenter Dr. Matthew Sleeth makes the convincing case why trees are essential to every Christian's understanding of God.
I thought this was an interesting book, to use trees as the lens for viewing God and His work. The Bible starts with trees in creation, ends with trees in Revelation, was the place of crucifixion, and more. By carrying the imagery of trees, Sleeth encourages us to express love for God and others with both spiritual and physical trees.
If you have a heart for nature, this is a great book to help enhance your understanding of God and how we can serve him and encourage others.
Matthew Sleeth, a former ER doctor and atheist, is now a follower of Jesus and founder of Blessed Earth, a ministry that seeks to inspire faithful stewardship over Creation.
