World Wisdom: NatureZway Bamboo Cleaning Products

Determined to create a line of all-natural products that actually get the job done, LA entrepreneur Sean Solouki created NatureZway three years ago. They have a line of sponges, bath tissues, kitchen brushes, floor wipes and much more (including products specifically for pets) made from bamboo (not a variety that pandas eat!) - including rolls of "paper" towels so strong and absorbent, you could hand-wash each sheet 100 times!

I had a chance to check out some of their products and I was pleasantly surprised. The bath tissue is just as soft as anything else, the "paper towels" really are durable and last for quite a while - they make perfect "napkins." The ingredients are thoughtful and bamboo is a great renewable resource. The only complaint I'd have is the plastic packaging - I wish all eco-friendly companies would do more to reduce their use of plastic.

I had a chance to interview Sean to learn more.

Why was Naturezway started? I had developed a bamboo item I saw overseas that I liked and slowly I started to see and understand about bamboo and watching documentaries of the ecosystem and environment, it gave me the passion to start developing more items to help save the environment. At the same time, I wanted to make certain our eco-friendly products would actually be stronger and more effective than their conventional counterparts, which is one reason we've attracted so many consumers who had never considered buying "green" products before.

Why is it important to be aware of potentially harmful chemicals in cleaning products?  Many chemicals in cleaning products are unsafe for people, families, kids and pets while also harming the environment. At NatureZway, we strive to use chemical free and natural products however and whenever possible.

What are some ways that people can reduce the amount of cleaning chemicals in their homes?  Buy and look for chemical free products. You can easily find such products as well as valuable tips and insights with a simple Google search (chemical free, bpa free, organic, etc.).
