I love it when I get to review books with cute titles. Eli the Snazzleraffer: Growing Up is the sequel to an award-winning book Eli the Snazzleraffer.
In the book, Arron the Acorn doesn't want to grow up. He doesn't understand why he would need to change into a big tree that's stuck in the ground and lose his freedom. Eli explains just why the world needs those big oak trees.
This book is a good way to help kids realize why it's important to grow and change - and also why it's important to be patient and understanding. One unique feature of this book is that the drawings are simple black and white line drawings, which let kids personalize their own book by adding color (or leaving it black and white).
