STEAM has been a big part of education for several years now, and I had the chance to try out a new little gadget that's fun and a great way for kids to get involved in the creating and inventing process.
TACTBiT is incredibly easy to use - the blocks just snap together. The cubes, either light, make sound, or have wheels, which allow kids to create structures and vehicles that are different every time they use them. Building is easy, and cleanup is pretty easy too - although the creations look neat enough to leave out as well!
Right now they're running a Kickstarter campaign with blocks available at a great value - just under $20 for a starter set, up to around $130 for a classroom set of 50 cubes (plus other resources). If you're a teacher or parent interested in a fun STEAM toy that also makes a good learning tool, check them out.
