Book Nook: A Journey with Malmo to the Ends of the Earth

Elena Horas San Martin’s ‘A Journey with Malmo to the Ends of The Earth immerses the reader in an imaginative, fantasy world, where he or she will be able to travel to the centre of the Earth and get to know some monstrous creatures called The Gorgos. Malmo, the protagonist of the book, has an important mission to accomplish: to destroy this subterranean country and its hideous inhabitants, for they're plotting the destruction of the Earth and all its life forms. “People who have read my novel say it is an imaginative story, with wonderful characters and a very good pace. It is also funny and moving. It’s aimed at children 9 upwards,” says the author.

Malmo's country was attacked, and all the brave, young men who were defending it suddenly disappeared from the face of the earth. What happened to them? Who killed them or took them away? And why? Malmo is the only one with the courage and determination to venture outside their country and find out what really occurred. But his mission is a very difficult one, for the attackers were The Gorgos - half-snake-half-crocodile monsters of gigantic size that live at the centre of the Earth in a dark, subterranean country called Graviland.
