Amazing Apps: Mizzi Mozzi

One of the main concerns of parents is exposure to foreign languages. 90% of respondents to a 2021 airline survey said it was critical for their children to learn another language. In contrast, over half of those parents (53%) believe that introducing foreign languages to young children is time-consuming or difficult.

To address this issue, Nebra Sky Media launched the interactive book series Mizzi Mozzi, which introduces foreign languages through fun stories. Since 2021, Mizzi Mozzi books have been enjoyed in their millions around the world, even in Antarctica, and there is now evidence to suggest that they are effective.

Claire Ewen, a mother from Scotland, began reading Mizzi Mozzi to her daughter last year. Claire said, "The wacky stories and cool illustrations make me forget she's learning a new language. I've noticed her muttering words in different languages, even trying to use them in her own speech."

Nebra Sky Media's Jana Lewis said that kids get hooked on the same book for weeks on end. "This behavior is leveraged by Mizzi Mozzi to boost foreign language uptake and retention." Lewis continued, "Parents also tell us that their children learn words in multiple languages by swapping out Spanish stories for say, the version in Italian, French or Japanese."

Currently, Mizzi Mozzi offers more than 10 combinations for learning foreign languages, including French, Spanish, Italian, German, Portuguese, Greek, Japanese and Chinese.

A 30-day free trial is available after downloading the Mizzi Mozzi app, followed by a $2.99 monthly subscription.
