Consumer Critique: The Heart-Mind Box

I recently had a chance to review a different kind of gift box - the Heart Mind Box from the Dalai Lama Center for Peace and Education. As a family, we definitely appreciated everything in the box, even though we aren't Buddhist.

One of the items in the box was a book that compiles stories and wisdom for many of the Dalai Lama's talks. I always enjoy hearing from different spiritual traditions, finding where we have common ground and learning from others when we don't.

There were also several items in the box designed to help with relaxation and meditation. Mala bracelets, supplies for rock painting, and 20-minute candles all can aid in meditation and relaxation. My older daughter loved the styluses for rock painting, an activity that she has always found relaxing and now has the proper equipment to do. The box the bracelets came in was also a touch of artistic work.

Finally, my husband was able to enjoy the tea. He enjoys drinking tea when it gets cold - and this arrived at the perfect time, because fall weather is finally here in Minnesota!

Although the box has a little higher price point than some gift boxes, the quality of materials is definitely amazing - and you help support the work of the Center, which has a lot of resources available for anyone, regardless of your spiritual background.
