Music Minute - Sam Moran: Biddy Bom

This Friday, ARIA Hall of Fame inductee, singer, songwriter, actor, and performer Sam Moran is set to share a new single, “Biddy Bom,” featuring Serena Williams’ daughter’s favorite doll and viral sensation, Qai Qai. It notably marks the world-renowned artist’s first release under his new signing with Republic Records: Kids & Family, as well as the debut of Qai Qai’s promising musical career. You can pre-save “Biddy Bom”— HERE.

The track layers handclaps and a hypnotic bass line above a buoyant beat. Meanwhile, Sam delivers an instantly irresistible mantra rich with emotion. Qai Qai— based on the real-life doll of Serena Williams’ daughter Olympia Ohanian—joins Sam on the track thanks to leading internet-first animation studio Invisible Universe, which initially brought her to life on social media where she entertains and inspires over 5 million followers with her confidence and wit. Now, the collaboration unites two world-class children’s entertainers on one undeniable anthem that will make you say, “Biddy Bom!”

About the release, Sam commented, “Coming out of the Pandemic, I was reading all of these reports on children feeling isolated and not being able to recognize or describe these emotions. ‘Biddy Bom’ is about anxiety and loneliness. It’s a positive affirmation for kids to sing to themselves to get through tough moments and I can’t wait to share it with the world on Friday.”

Qai Qai chimed in, “I’m all about my fans, so when I heard Sam wanted to help kids stay positive, I knew I had to hop on the track! For my day ones and newly found fans— you’re not alone. And I can’t wait for y’all to hear me tear it up on the mic!”

“Republic Kids & Family’s mission is to bring quality music to children and families everywhere,”  says Bree Bowles, Vice President of Marketing and Strategy at Republic.  “Sam Moran is an icon in the genre and the fact that he is joined by up-and-comer Qai Qai makes this debut even sweeter.”

“From breaking down the latest trending TikTok dance to her nursery rhymes remixes, Qai Qai continues to showcase her musical gifts,” said Nerissa Holder Hall, Head of Franchise at Invisible Universe. “Qai Qai and I are so excited she gets to team up with Sam Moran, and we’re excited for more to come from Qai Qai.”

Stay tuned for the premiere of an energetic music video to accompany the track soon.
It only paves the way for more to come from the alliance between Sam Moran and Republic Records: Kids & Family.
