New ResumeTemplates.com data shows parents are applying for jobs, joining interviews, and contacting managers on behalf of Gen Z workers.
This study focused exclusively on younger Gen Z (ages 18–23) and includes additional data from parents.
Key findings:
- 51% of Gen Zers had a parent sit in on multiple in-person interviews, and 75% say a parent submitted job applications for them
- 67% of employed Gen Zers say a parent has repeatedly spoken with their manager
- Gen Z men report higher repeat parental involvement than women
- Parents say their involvement was requested by their child and driven by a difficult job market, inexperience, and anxiety
