Finding a healthy
alternative to sodas, flavored waters, juices and sports drinks can be a challenge. Nutri-Twist WOW Water was created when father Peter Andoni wanted to provide his son
with a healthy beverage. When Alex, was diagnosed with Type-1
diabetes at the age of 7, the family to had to make some lifestyle changes with a focus on vegetables, fruits with lower
sugar contents, and products with less carbs and healthier options as
opposed to processed foods. Alex, as an active athlete, was surrounded by sports drinks and juice boxes many parents offered after practices and games - drinks that often had high fructose corn syrup, artificial colors and flavors, and sugars.
Nutri-Twist Wow Water is a
beverage with about 40 calories and 11 grams of carbs per 10-ounce
bottle, in Strawberry Kiwi, Berry Fusion and Tropical Citrus flavors.
The drinks are free from high fructose corn syrup, artificial colors,
flavors and sweeteners, caffeine, gluten and peanut by-products. They
are enhanced with Vitamin B, C and D, and electrolytes, and sweetened
with stevia and natural cane sugar. Five percent of sales go to Juvenile
Diabetes Research Foundation.
Nutri-Twist WOW Water is not just for kids or people who live with
diabetes. It’s a healthier option for anybody who cares about what they
ingest or have their children or loved ones drink. For moms, like me, it
is a healthier alternative for my daughter’s lunches and after-school
drinks and she loves it.
Nutri-Twist WOW Water is currently available in Cub Foods grocery
stores, some local stores and restaurants in Michigan, and on
Amazon.com.
According to Peter Andoni, creator, juice can have three times the sugar of WOW Water. WOW Water also provides higher vitamin, mineral, and electrolyte content than many other beverage options. Although WOW Water has a limited sales area now, they are in the process of coming to major markets nationally. So look for it on your store shelves soon, or head over to Amazon to buy yourself a case. It's nice to give your kids a tasty option that is healthier than a sugar-loaded beverage.
