Book Nook: Positive Thinking Will Never Change Your Life

We hear a lot about positive thinking, and how it can improve your life. It's true to some extent, but it's not like you can visualize a car and get one in your driveway. Positive Thinking Will Never Change Your Life But This Book Will! The Myth of Positive Thinking the Reality of Success by David Essel, debunks the idea of positive thinking to solve all your problems.

That being said, the book has a fairly positive tone. He uses the story of his friend who went from foreclosure to millionaire, and the limits that positive thinking had. However, there were specific, actionable steps his friend took to get there. David also interviewed Dr. Joe Vitale of The Secret, where it was revealed that it wasn't just thinking about the checks that made him rich, but years of daily hard work that got him to where he is now.

The book dives into our beliefs about money, financial peace of mind, the right attitude around money, and action steps that work in any situation to make improvements. It's an honest book, not promising any instant gratification, acknowledging that real change takes time but can happen.
