I have always enjoyed optical illusions and the "impossible" drawings of M. C. Escher, and my daughter loves drawing, so I was thrilled to review The Art of Drawing Optical Illusions.
This was a fun book. My husband and younger daughter enjoyed flipping through it, looking at the optical illusions, and my older daughter immediately put into practice several of them, such as the staircase and the hovering sphere.
Some of the effects are basic enough that a budding artist can start to get the hang of them, while others are challenging enough to keep the experienced artist interested. The book progresses from basic illusions to more complex trick art, and the instructions are easy-to-follow to matter what the skill level of the reader is.
