Fun Freetime: Air Tracks

Have you heard of an airtrack? It looks like a really neat product. Basically, it's an inflatable cushion that makes a great surface for a variety of sports. Air floor gymnastics means that you can set up a safe surface for tumbling on any flat surface, with or without pads. It provides enough cushion to minimize injuries on falls, and can also mimic the bounce in the surface of gymnastics floors.

Enthusiasts of other sports might also be interested in finding an air track for sale. Besides gymnastics, cheerleading is another sport that often involves tumbling passes and some aerial acrobatics. Parkour and martial arts athletes can benefit from working on another type of surface. It could be a very unique addition to a school physical education program. Even senior homes could incorporate it into physical fitness activities that encourage core strength and balance work, with a soft surface that protects bones on falls and a slightly unstable surface that promotes improving balance.

There are a lot of different types and sizes of products that you can find at airtrack factory. They come in a wide variety of price ranges too, depending on the size and use. You can even pick a color that matches your rec room. Obviously if you have one of the smaller air tracks it's really only safe for one or maybe two people at a time, and not designed for extensive tumbling passes. There are some that are just slightly larger than an exercise trampoline designed for one person, so they would fit in a den for burning off energy during the winter or rainy days. But for school use, or gymnastics training, or other more serious pursuits, you can find some that are as long as forty feet (or probably even longer too).

Honestly, there are a lot of ways it could be used at home. It could work as a sleeping surface for guests, or a softer reading surface, or even just a place to sit on and get some wiggles out. Sitting on an unstable surface like balls or air mattresses forces the body to work a little harder to balance, and works core muscles in small ways. My kids would love to get one of these, and we just might put it on their birthday list once we finish off the basement and have a little more space for it! Now that I've learned about them, I'm quite intrigued!
