Amazing Apps: International Suicide Prevention

Youth suicide statistics are sobering.
•    Suicide is the SECOND leading cause of death for ages 10-24. (2016 CDC WISQARS)
•    Suicide is the SECOND leading cause of death for college-age youth and ages 12-18. (2016 CDC WISQARS)
•    More teenagers and young adults die from suicide than from cancer, heart disease, AIDS, birth defects, stroke, pneumonia, influenza, and chronic lung disease, COMBINED.
•    Each day in our nation an average of over 3,041 suicide attempts are made by young people, grades 9-12. If these percentages are additionally applied to grades 7 and 8, the numbers would be higher.
•    Four out of Five teens who attempt suicide have given clear warning signs.
•    The Youth Risk Behavioral Surveillance System (YRBS) is a survey, conducted by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, that includes national, state, and local school-based representative samples of 9th through 12th grade students. The purpose is to monitor priority health-risk behaviors that contribute to the leading causes of death, disability, and social problems among youth in the United States.
International Suicide Prevention (ISP) has been successfully treating suicidal thoughts since 2006. ISP is the only suicide prevention organization to be using advanced cognitive neuropsychology treatments that have been proven to work on suicidal ideation.
At the forefront of this epidemic ISP is developing the first of its kind, self-help suicide prevention mobile app that will treat suicidal ideation among teens.
The first step in the development stage is geared to target adolescents ages 5 to 24.  Afterwards, ISP is expected to expand this program to include: veterans, military, first responders and seniors.
This has all been made possible with the help of behavioral modification scientist Matthew Dovel.  Mr. Dovel has been working in the field of cognitive neuropsychology for over 3 decades.  He is responsible for discovering a code that unlocks the secret to effectively modifying human behavior.

I had a chance to interview him to learn more about the app.

Why was this app created?
It was created to offer assistance to those that may not otherwise seek help due to stigma, lack of funds, or the inability to overcome embarrassment or shame due to a sexual trauma.  This app is a completely anonymous, and fully automated 10 minute treatment based on new breakthroughs in mind science.

When and how can it be downloaded?
The app is available now online with the following links.

It is scheduled for release in Apple and Droid app stores the first week of November.  This app will be offered as a free download.

How will the app help?
The app was created by behavioral scientist Matthew Dovel.  He is also the president of International Suicide Prevention, a 501(c)(3) public charity nonprofit.
In 2006, Mr. Dovel started publicly providing free treatments in at International Suicide Prevention in a new system called Nu-Rekall®. This new approach in psychology addresses the cause of mental disorders. At first, these treatments were given only in person. Then, they evolved to over the phone applications. And now, the proven treatments were adapted into this automated app.
The results of trials prior to the app being released into app stores is has been 85% successfully being treated, and for those that didn’t get positive results, they’re being given the option to call anonymously for further assistance.

What are some other solutions to reduce suicide?
When someone is made aware of a solution, it is very important to share this knowledge with those they know and love.  Most suicides are a surprise to those that knew them. Each suicide touches at least 7 other people. These advancements are only available to those that are aware of them. Please make everyone aware of this solution. Noninvasive and nonmedical.
