Book Nook: Christmas Holiday Cheer Tattletale Titter Tizzy Tale

Soon, bells will be ringing and children will be singing, and they'll be plotting their plans for staying up late and catching Santa Claus as he eats the cookies off the plate. But as long as their eyes are open, no Santa will they see. How can this possibly be? Kids would like to know before the snow!
In Christmas Holiday Cheer Tattletale Titter Tizzy Tale, author Stephen Cherokee Drury pens an amusing story that reveals the surprising answer to one of the world's best kept secrets: How has Santa managed to go undetected by prying eyes for centuries? Is Santa's secret truly that "he knows when you are sleeping, and he knows when you're awake?” Could the elves be behind Santa's ability to remain hidden from anxious, curious eyes, or could it be his magic deer - Holiday Cheer?
Drury uses sing-song rhymes coupled with clever alliteration to weave fast-paced passages that readers of all ages will enjoy. It's the perfect tale to tell around a warm holiday fire with the family all around. It is especially fun to read to the kiddos just before dreamland.

I had a chance to interview the author to learn more.
Why did you decide to write this book?

I have been a writer all of my adult life.  I have written on so many subjects from philosophy to humor and poetry.  I have been puzzled for a good part of my life about this - Santa thing.  Does he exist or not?  Well, all I know is:  I am still getting gifts at Christmas, so he must truly exist!  That is how I figure it - this is a tale worth telling!

What gave you the idea for your book?

But then, why have I not seen Santa?  A good question, because I have put out a ton of cookies during my life and stayed up most of the night on Christmas Eves dating a long way back - before I had teeth.  No, I have not seen him yet.  Then while walking through the forest, I saw several deer hopping around, literally playing.  That is when it came to me about the magical deer - Holiday Cheer.  He is the reason for certain.  Holiday Cheer checks in on me and all other kids to make certain the coast is clear for Santa to appear.  I recall my parents and others always talking about the reason for the whole season, this holiday cheer.  So, I had to tell this true story so all kids would know the reason no kiddo has ever spotted Santa in centuries.

What is your favorite part of Christmas?

The blessings of the season and the hope for all human beings.  also really love all the gifts Santa brings me, after Holiday Cheer the  great Tattletale lets Santa know that I have finally fallen way off to Dreamland one more time.  That is my story and I am sticking to it.
