Book Nook: Your Fittest Future Self - Making Choices Today for a Happier, Healthier You

Adopting a healthier lifestyle often feels overwhelming and draining — like a chore. The trick to sustaining a lifestyle change long term is reframing the creation of your health mixes. I had a chance to review Your Fittest Future Self: Making Choices Today for a Happier, Healthier, Fitter Future You by author and fitness expert Kathleen Trotter. In the book she encourages readers to think of creating mixes like going on an adventure or figuring out a puzzle rather than as something overwhelming, exhausting, or  obligatory.
Instead of focus on failures in the past, use what didn't work as something to keep out of your mix. For example, if you hate running as a workout, find something else instead. If you hate a particular healthy eating strategy, choose one that works for you - for example, instead of counting calories, try focusing on getting lots of the right foods instead.

Learn from your past experiences so you can create, now, a mix that suits you, leading to that fitter self.
