Giveaway: Baby Lit

It's important to read to babies. It's also fun to expose them to elements of classic literature. That's the idea behind the Baby Lit "Classic Lit" category, which has books about shapes, opposites, animals, transportation, and more, set in the context of classic stories like The Nutcracker, Anna Karenina, Jabberwocky, Peter Pan, and more.

I had a chance to see Sense & Sensibility - An Opposites Priner. I like the idea of the series a lot. Obviously a toddler isn't going to be able to deal with the plot of many classic stories, but for parents who enjoy classic literature, they'll easily be able to see the relationship between the words, the illustrations, and the original story.

The book is full of bold illustrations that generally do a good job of illustrating the opposites. Only one pair (married-single) is a little abstract for toddlers to pick up, and the illustration doesn't really clarify. The rest of the book, though, is great - good pictures, appropriate choices, and a fun way for literature lovers to read to their toddlers. At $9.99 each, these make great baby shower gifts.

I have a chance to give away a copy of Sense & Sensibility - An Opposites Primer. To enter, leave a comment with your favorite book from the Classic Lit category besides Sense & Sensibility. Deadline is June 30th.
