Soul Sustenance: Anger Management Tips

Warmer weather is here; it's the perfect time for summer detox! Thankfully, Pastor Jameliah Young-Mitchell has the perfect detox technique to rid you of repressed anger for good. This popular, vivacious pastor and social media celebrity provides a handy acronym for those looking to cleanse themselves of anger. She tackles anger and so much more in her best-selling book, The Death of the Angry Black Woman, (Warren Publishing), that was rated #1 New Release on Amazon.com in the category of Anger Management.
A.N.G.E.R. TIPS
A. ASCEND HIGHER THAN YOUR PLACE OF HURT. Whatever you've been dealing with that has been a source of your anger; find a way to address it. We don't want the anger to fester, we want to assess it and make the necessary changes to fix it.
N. NOURISH YOURSELF WITH POSITIVITY. Consume positive information and messages often. If you were to eat junk food every day, your body would be unhealthy. The same is the case for our minds and emotions. What we put in is what will come out.
G. GROW INTO A BETTER YOU. All living things need time to grow. Whether vegetables, animals or human beings, we are all growing daily. Allow yourself time to grow.
E. EDIT NEGATIVITY. Try your best to remove negative things from your life. When you're in the process of growing in to a better version of yourself, negativity can hurt or delay the process.
R. REPAIR THE BROKEN PLACES. Lingering anger is often a result of unresolved issues. Whether it's through professional counseling or spiritual guidance, find a way to repair something that may be contributing to your anger.
Acknowledging the stereotypes women in the black community face, Young-Mitchell also knows first-hand that what begins as name-calling can quickly escalate. Her book reflects her passion to help women toss anger to the curb and chuck false labels––for good.
