As Greta Thunberg, the 16-year-old climate change activist, sails to America for the UN Climate Talks, youth are becoming more aware of climate activism, and it's leading to a boom in books about environmental awareness.
Publishers are calling the boom in environmental books “the Greta Thunberg effect.” These are books aimed at empowering young people to save the planet. According to the Guardian, which pulled information from Nielsen Book Research, "The number of new children’s books looking at the climate crisis, global heating and the natural world has more than doubled over the past 12 months. Sales have also doubled."
