Soul Sustenance: The Jeremiah Study Bible and The Inquisitive Christ

I recently had a chance to review two new books from Hachette Book Group.

The Jeremiah Study Bible, Psalms and Proverbs is a very classic-looking compilation of Psalms and Proverbs (ESV version) with some commentary from the Jeremiah Study Bible. The commentary is actually fairly minimal, which means it's not distracting. Psalms and Proverbs are beautiful books of the Bible on their own, and the insights provided by Dr. Jeremiah add to the wisdom of these books.

The Inquisitive Christ was really eye-opening - I had no idea just how many questions Jesus asked in the Bible! The book focuses on twelve main questions that Christ used to teach his disciples. Then, at the end of the book, is a list of all of the other questions that He asked in the Bible. It's amazing how much can be taught by using questions, and this book explores questions and the Scripture-based answers to them, to provide a way to get to know Jesus and His teachings even more deeply.
