Consumer Critique: Veggies Made Great Frittatas (and More)

March is Nutrition Month, which means it's a great time to think about ways to get more nutrients in our diet, especially vegetables. Veggies Made Great aims to create high-quality, delicious, nutrition, veggie-rich foods that are easy to prepare. Their products are allergy-friendly (free of gluten, soy, peanuts, and tree nuts, with many free of dairy as well).

I had a chance to sample some of their products recently, and I tried out the Frittatas. I'd never had them before, and I really liked them. They had a great flavor and texture, and were ready in just minutes. I was actually surprised, because freezing eggs sometimes does odd things to their quality, but these held up well when reheated. The Frittatas come in several flavors:  Spinach Egg White, Veggie Bacon & Potato, and Mushroom & 3 Cheese Egg White, Sausage & Pepper Frittata made with Beyond Meat ®, and Sausage, Egg & Cheese Frittata made with Beyond Meat. I tried the veggie bacon & potato, because I was curious how the veggie bacon would turn out, and it was pretty good.

They also have muffins and veggie cakes that I've had before. The muffins are great for those who like a sweeter breakfast or are trying to sneak extra vegetables in for picky eaters. The veggie cakes have great savory flavors and because they're easy to prepare, make good healthy snacks.

All products are manufactured in a gluten-free, peanut-free, tree nut-free, soy-free facility.

Since 2008, Veggies Made Great has been an industry groundbreaker for frozen and refrigerated foods. Over the years, retailers have responded favorably to Veggies Made Great’s products, leading to tremendous distribution gains with programs already in place in key retailers such as Walmart, Costco, Kroger, Target, Shop Rite, Publix, Stop & Shop, Giant, Meijer, HEB, Ralph’s, Fry’s, and The Fresh Market.

Over the course of their 10-year history, Veggies Made Great has had to pivot and make significant changes to their product line in order to actively deliver on their mission: remarkably delicious veggie-rich foods. By evolving the product offerings to include more flavors, a larger variety of veggies, and more portable formats, they have reshaped the company portfolio to have three times the velocity of their original product line, meeting the growing consumer demand for healthy plant-based, convenient foods.

The suggested retail prices of the products are: $4.99 for the six-count items, $9.99 for the Costco 12-count items, and $12.99 for the 20-count items.
