I recently had a chance to review the book A Flood of Kindness, a heartwarming picture book for kids who might be struggling with loss or grief - or for parents who want to help encourage their kids to be the helpers for others.
In the book, Charlotte's home is destroyed by a flood, and the book follows her as she processes her feelings like anger and sadness. She's able to learn to be grateful for what she still does have, though, and also helps other children who are struggling.
The book is a great way to explain heavy emotional topics to kids when they don't have the vocabulary to express what they're going through. It's a good reminder that even when life is dark and gray there can be rays of sunshine.
