I recently had a chance to review Life and Other Shortcomings by Corie Adjmi, award-winning author and women’s empowerment activist.
The book shares the stories of twelve very different women. Each one is in a very different situation and a different part in her journey. Through reading the stories, the reader can reflect on the varied experiences of being a female and what it means to be a woman. No matter what the lens - cultural, historical, or relational - the stories are honest and beautiful, and can encourage the reader to do their own self-exploration with their particular life stage.
The stories are easy to read - the perfect length to be satisfying, short enough that they don't take long to read, and open enough that the reader can imagine what might come next. I enjoyed reading through the book!
