Consumer Critique: Potty Train with Pinky Bear

Potty training can be such a different experience between families - some find it easy, others struggle. Even in the same family it can be a different experience between kids (it sure was for our family). There are a lot of different methods and approaches to use as well.

One new approach that would have worked well for at least one of my kids, if not both, is Potty Train with Pinky Bear. This award-winning book and stuffed bear combination is written for a toddler's attention span - short text and lots of bright pictures. It incorporates an element of surprise and rewards, and a visit from Pinky Bear. You can see how it works here.

What I liked best about this is that it allows for a lot of customization between families and within the same family. I had one child who was an adult-pleaser, and one child who needed the right hook to do anything or she simply wouldn't do it. This would have provided a way to work with both under the same structure. And, of course, it's great if your kid likes teddy bears!

You can buy Pinky Bear at its own site or on Amazon, or you can get it at Walmart, Buy Buy Baby, and Bed Bath and Beyond.
