I recently had the chance to review Anime Art Class - A Complete Course in Drawing Manga Cuties. It was perfect for my art-loving almost-high-school daughter who is still trying to explore and define her style.
About a year ago, she had mentioned she wasn't into drawing anime. But she gave this book a shot, and now she likes it. She actually realized that the people she was drawing had some element of anime style in them, and this book helped her refine and define her own style, as well as learn to draw figure that were true anime characters.
The book has dozens of tutorials that help artists focus on different elements of anime style - clothes, hair, figures, and facial features. It walks artists through drawing to adding color in an easy-to-follow way. It's a great book for people who want to learn more about drawing anime or just exploring a new style!
