Consumer Critique: Sukrin USA

Most people in the United States consume too much added sugar - it's so easy to have a sweet tooth. However, too much sugar can contribute to other health conditions, and for people who are diabetic, it's critical to monitor sugar intake, whether it's type 1 or type 2 diabetes. With August being National Wellness Month, it's the perfect time to get to review a brand that helps reduce sugar intake.

Sukrin USA is a brand of sugar substitutes that uses natural ingredients. They have syrups and other sweeteners designed to work well in any type of recipe or dish where you might use sugar or other sweeteners.

Sukrin Bake - Allulose Sweetener This is a Keto-friendly, zero-calorie sweetener that is designed to replace sugar 1:1 in baking. I made a recipe with sugar and with this sweetener, and it was nearly impossible to tell the difference in texture or in taste (we could tell there was a difference, but it was slight and no one in the family had any preference between the two). The sweetener is vegan, non-GMO, and gluten-free.

Sukrin Maple Syrup We actually had a recipe that called for maple syrup in oatmeal cookies, so this gave us the perfect opportunity to try this. It definitely added the maple flavoring that complemented the cookies well. My husband is very picky about maple syrup on pancakes, and he could tell that this wasn't the pure maple syrup we usually get, but it was a very close substitute, similar to having pancake syrup that isn't 100% maple syrup. Unless your family is super picky about maple syrup, this is a great substitute. It is gluten-free, non-GMO, and Kosher.

Sukrin Chocolate Mousse This is a great, tasting product that works well for chocolate mousse pie - it also has directions for chocolate ice cream and chocolate buttercream. The texture was great, and like the other products, you can tell a slight difference in taste if they're side-by-side, but it still makes a satisfying dessert.

I didn't get to try all the products the company offers, but I was very impressed with what I did get. If you do a lot of baking and want a convenient option, you might consider the Sukrin Let's Bake! Bundle, which contains a variety of products and ships for free. They also offer condiments and spreads, cereal, other mixes, and snacks, to cover a wide variety of sugar-free needs.
