I recently had a chance to review Stolen Science by Ella Schwartz and illustrated by Gaby D’Alessandro. This was a great book to learn more about people that are often forgotten in history lessons.
The book includes stories of uncredited scientists and inventors. It's a well-designed book - the visuals are engaging and add interest to the story, but also appropriate for any age reader. The scientific ideas in the book are written in a way that they aren't dumbed-down and condescending, but they're also accessible by people who don't have a strong science background.
People are becoming more aware of the importance of uncovering stories that aren't well-known, particularly people from communities that are often under-represented. I really enjoyed being able to read this book that helps set the record straight and provides a more diverse set of role models in the scientific world than many people often realize.
